The forest products sector includes logging, commodity lumber such as softwood lumber and plywood, pulp and paper operations and the manufacture of other wood products.
In 2010, the Alberta forest products sector
consumed 85,567,670 GJ and
emitted 4,217,398 GHG tonnes.
Natural gas accounts for 4.34% of the fuels consumed by this sector. Electricity makes up another 15.24%, while oil and other fuels (primarily wood waste) represent 0% and 80.42% of the total respectively.
