Natural gas is the source of 17.73% of the energy consumed by commercial businesses and the public service in British Columbia, Yukon, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut. Nearly all of your workplaces, shopping centres and public buildings such as town halls, schools and libraries use natural gas for space heating and hot water.  Natural gas is also used for some auxiliary motors and equipment.
In 2010, the commercial / institutional sector
consumed 48,893,290 GJ of natural gas and
emitted 3,419,583 GHG tonnes.
