In 2010, industry
consumed 384,373,900 GJ of other fuels and
emitted 14,417,310 GHG tonnes.
About 14.82% of total industrial energy use comes from fuel sources such as industrial byproducts, natural gas liquids (NGLs) and wood waste.
In Alberta, the biggest source of other fuels is industrial byproducts. Refineries produce still gas and petroleum coke from crude oil as derivatives of their industrial processes.
