In 2010, the Manitoba agricultural sector
consumed 18,365,050 GJ and
emitted 13,513,830 GHG tonnes.
Most of the energy (83.27%) consumed by this sector is required to operate trucks and equipment. Diesel and gasoline, which are manufactured from crude oil, are therefore the predominate fuel sources. Of the balance of energy consumed, electricity makes up 13.45% and natural gas and natural gas liquids make up 3.28%.
