Nearly all automobiles run on gasoline or diesel, which are made from oil.  Although renewable fuel content is now a standard Canadian requirement, ethanol represented only 2.17% of Manitoba's total residential energy use in 2010.
 
On average in 2010, passenger vehicles
consumed 83.04 GJ and
emitted 6.85 GHG tonnes per household.
