Electricity provides 28.89% of the energy consumed by individuals in Manitoba.  It powers light fixtures and many appliances, including air conditioners. About a third of Manitobans also use electricity to heat their homes and hot water tanks. 
 
In 2010, the residential sector
consumed 27,475,720 GJ of electricity and
emitted 17,209 GHG tonnes.
