Natural gas is the source of 18.87% of the energy consumed by individuals in Manitoba. It is primarily used to fuel furnaces (42.38%) and hot water heaters, although some appliances such as gas stoves also depend on natural gas. 
In 2010, the residential sector
consumed 17,941,650 GJ of natural gas and
emitted 1,057,409 GHG tonnes.
