Oil is the source of 47.98% of the energy consumed by individuals in Manitoba. Most of it is used to move us from place to place. Nearly all automobiles, buses and airplanes run on gasoline or diesel which are made from oil. Oil is also used to fuel some furnaces and a few hot water heaters.
In 2010, the residential sector
consumed 45,629,780 GJ of oil and
emitted 3,914,326 GHG tonnes.
