In Manitoba, 42.38% of households use natural gas to heat their homes, while another 50.84% use electricity.  Of the remainder, wood (6%) is the main source of energy.
 
On average in 2010, space heating and cooling for each household
consumed 67.24 GJ and
emitted 1.83 GHG tonnes.
