Electricity provides 19.20% of the energy consumed by workplaces, shops, recreation centres and public buildings in New Brunswick.  It powers light fixtures, elevators, pumps and compressors as well as computers, photocopiers and fax machines. Electricity is also used for space conditioning and a few water heaters.
In 2010, the commercial / institutional sector
consumed 9,884,433 GJ of electricity and
emitted 756,175 GHG tonnes.
