Natural gas is the source of 13.68% of the energy consumed by commercial businesses and the public service in New Brunswick. It is mainly used for furnaces and hot water heaters in office and public buildings such as town halls, schools and libraries. Some auxiliary motors and equipment also run on natural gas.
In 2010, the commercial / institutional sector
consumed 7,043,227 GJ of natural gas and
emitted 455,103 GHG tonnes.
