In 2010, the New Brunswick agricultural sector (including fisheries)
consumed 5,140,409 GJ and
emitted 1,582,233 GHG tonnes.
Most of the energy (94.24%) consumed by this sector is required to operate trucks, boats and equipment. Diesel and gasoline, which are manufactured from crude oil, are therefore the predominate fuel sources. Electricity (5%) makes up the balance.
