Nearly all automobiles run on gasoline or diesel, which are made from oil.  Although renewable fuel content is now a standard Canadian requirement, New Brunswick's total residential energy use included no ethanol in 2010.
 
On average in 2010, passenger vehicles
consumed 95.91 GJ and
emitted 13.97 GHG tonnes per household.
