In 2010, the Newfoundland and Labrador mining sector
consumed 6,904,672 GJ and
emitted 106,313 GHG tonnes.
 
Oil makes up 6.78% of the total energy consumed by the mining sector.  Electricity  accounts for another 87.02%.
