Electricity provides 28.89% of the energy consumed by individuals in Newfoundland and Labrador.  It powers light fixtures, furnaces, hot water heaters and appliances, including air conditioners.
 
In 2010, the residential sector
consumed 13,212,990 GJ of electricity and
emitted 58,075 GHG tonnes.
