consumed 78,583,880 GJ of coal and
emitted 6,771,315 GHG tonnes.
 
All of the coal consumed by Nova Scotian industries is used to generate electricity. Since electricity generation makes up a large part of Nova Scotia's industrial base when looking at energy consumption, coal equates to 47.87% of total industrial energy use.
