Nova Scotia has one oil refinery located in Dartmouth.  It is due to close at the end of 2013.
In 2010, the refining sector
consumed 7,212,266 GJ and
emitted 543,949 GHG tonnes.
Nova Scotia's refining sector used industrial byproducts for almost half of its fuel needs in 2010. Electricity (10.46%) and oil (18.28%) made up the balance.
