In 2010, the residential sector
consumed 4,412,781 GJ of other fuel sources and
emitted 89,751 GHG tonnes.
 
Wood (5.12%) is the fuel that provides most of the energy for residential consumption other than oil, electricity and natural gas in Nova Scotia.  It is primarily used to heat homes and hot water tanks.
