In 2010, the Ontario agricultural sector
consumed 61,675,040 GJ and

Most of the energy (53.60%) consumed by this sector is required to operate trucks and equipment. Diesel and gasoline, which are manufactured from crude oil, are therefore the predominate fuel sources. Of the balance of energy consumed, natural gas and natural gas liquids make up 31.62%, and electricity accounts for 14.77%.
