The forest products sector includes logging, commodity lumber such as softwood lumber and plywood, pulp and paper operations and the manufacture of other wood products.
In 2010, the Ontario forest products sector
consumed 118,476,600 GJ and
emitted 2,871,705 GHG tonnes.
Natural gas accounts for 25.46% of the fuels consumed by this sector. Electricity makes up another 18.08%, while oil and other fuels (primarily wood waste) represent 1.75% and 54.71% of the total respectively.
