In 2010, the Quebec agricultural sector
consumed 33,841,970 GJ and
emitted 14,276,180 GHG tonnes.
Most of the energy (65.14%) consumed by this sector is required to operate trucks and equipment. Diesel and gasoline, which are manufactured from crude oil, are therefore the predominate fuel sources. Of the balance of energy consumed, electricity makes up 18.93%, and natural gas and natural gas liquids (NGLs) account for 15.93%.
