Oil is the source of 54.11% of the energy consumed by individuals in Quebec. Most of it is used to move us from place to place. Nearly all automobiles, buses and airplanes run on gasoline or diesel which are made from oil. Oil is also used to fuel some furnaces and hot water heaters.
In 2010, the residential sector
consumed 336,792,900 GJ of oil and
emitted 32,111,000 GHG tonnes.
