Electricity provides 13.89% of the energy consumed by workplaces, shops, recreation centres and public buildings in Saskatchewan.  It powers light fixtures, elevators, pumps and compressors as well as computers, photocopiers and fax machines. Electricity is also used for space conditioning and a few water heaters.
In 2010, the commercial / institutional sector
consumed 16,385,990 GJ of electricity and
emitted 6,399,165 GHG tonnes.
