In Saskatchewan, 90.12% of all hot water heaters in the commercial / institutional sector consist of a storage tank heated with natural gas, ignited by a pilot light that burns continuously.  The balance of hot water heating is provided by oil (6.17%) and electricity (3.71%).
 
In 2010, water heating in this sector
consumed 3,908,685 GJ and
emitted 409,779 GHG tonnes.
