In 2010, Saskatchewan's agricultural sector
consumed 55,344,320 GJ and
emitted 37,463,890 GHG tonnes.
Most of the energy (88.47%) consumed by this sector is required to operate trucks and equipment. Diesel and gasoline, which are manufactured from crude oil, are therefore the predominate fuel sources.  Of the balance of energy consumed, electricity makes up 8.40% and natural gas makes up 3.01%.
