consumed 169,387,100 GJ of coal and
emitted 15,791,100 GHG tonnes.
 
Nearly all of the coal consumed by Saskatchewan industries is used to generate electricity. Since electricity generation makes up a large part of Saskatchewan's industrial base when looking at energy consumption, coal equates to 39.43% of total industrial energy use.
